About

Our mission is simple yet our intention is impactful. We want to help nurture and grow a child’s basic understanding of Islam and the five pillars through our hand crafted, personalized products.

In today’s fast-paced world, we recognize the difficulty of teaching Islam’s basics to our children. We believe that our hand-crafted designs - expressed through physical and digital products - can help build those pillars that will bring Iman to you and yours for years to come.

Sujood adheres to the following standards:

  • We focus on simple designs and unique colors that will attract your children to use our products in their daily lives.
  • We only focus on products that we know will bring out the best in your child and make your job as a Muslim parent (or guardian) easier.
  • We believe in high-end materials and first-class customer service.

About Maryum

Maryum Javed-Ali is a loving mother to three beautiful girls, a wife, a creative entrepreneur, and  product designer. Since graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, she knew that she wanted to combine her entrepreneurial spirit and creative design skills to start her own business. After graduating, Maryum got married and moved to Pakistan where she started to grow her family.

While raising her three daughters and going through the process of teaching them the basics of Islam, she reflected on the fact that as a child growing up in a moderate-muslim, south asian household she herself had trouble implementing the basic five pillars of Islam in her daily life as a kid. Maybe it was the South Asian approach to teaching Islam or the lack of child-friendly products. Fast forward to 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown she started creating products to bring her girls to their deen and that is how Sujood was born.
